Donavonn and
Cheshire were in a shouting match. In the month since David had found
Rabbie (and convinced her not to touch Donavonn's garden) he had been
spending a lot more time with Danielle, and this was making Donavonn
jealous. He decided to just take a day alone and walk off.
He
went to a bar he knew well, and one person in particular stuck out. A
femme mallard was sitting all by herself. Donavonn had seen her
before, dancing in raves he frequented himself after difficult
assignments. He went over to her, upset over his current situation.
The mallard, Teisia, grinned when she saw Donavonn head her way. She
had an interest in Donavonn, despite her orientation.
"I
am Donavonn Dingo."
"Teisia Mallard, nice to meet
you. So, what brings you over?" Donavonn sighed. "I have
this crush on someone, a roommate of mine. Thing is, he is dating a
girl named Danielle." Teisia remembered seeing a feline that
would sometimes pick Donavonn up from the raves. "I think I have
seen him around. Buy you a drink?"
Donavonn smiled and
sighed. "Sure. I could use one."
One soon became
several, as both began buying drinks for the other. Teisia spoke to
Donavonn about her past, about how she was rescued from near-death,
while Donavonn told her of what happened to him in Downunda, and the
incident at the airport. Soon, they were on their way home with help
from Cheshire (who didn't want Teisia to go home alone, so he decided
to let her into the apartment to sober up). Teisia was only somewhat
tipsy when she walked into the apartment.
Kookerloo was
smitten by her on the spot, while Cheshire prepared Rabbie to go to
the park with him and Danielle. Kookerloo began to serenade Teisia as
she sat down, helping to soothe her headache. Donavonn, unamused by
this, went for Kookerloo's tail feathers, and hadn't even had a
chance to wrap his hand around the feathers when Kookerloo turned
around and butted heads with Donavonn.
"CHRRRMUUUU~!"
"Don't
give me that, bird! Teisia is my guest!" Cheshire grinned as he
put on his boots, and there was a knock on the door. "Danielle's
here, guys. Rabbie and I will see you later!"
Teisia
waved goodbye as Cheshire and Rabbie left for the night. Teisia had
carefully observed Cheshire as he was getting ready to go. "Donavonn,
I got a good look at David, and the verdict is in. I know gay, being
gay myself. And David is hetero, beyond any doubt."
This
interrupted the feather-and-fur-laden kerfuffle between Donavonn and
Kookerloo. Kookerloo was snapping his beak at Donavonn, even as
Donavonn was trying to grab him by the feet. Donavonn finally opened
a window, and Kookerloo flew out. After that, Donavonn sighed in
defeat. "So he is straight, huh?"
"As an
arrow."
Donavonn sat down next to her. Teisia looked at
the dingo, hoping he'd turn his attention to her. Donavonn went into
the cabinet and poured them each a drink. "I first had a crush
on Chesh when he dressed me up as a pregnant girl named Donna so we
could escape in the confusion. It surprised me that he could think of
me that way, so I thought that maybe, just maybe…"
Teisia
put a hand on his shoulder. "You didn't know he was straight,
did you?"
"Not until he started dating Danielle."
Donavonn took a drink, as did Teisia. Teisia for her part drank as
well, and kept up with Donavonn. "500 buck says I can drink you
under the table."
"You are on…"
Cheshire
had brought them both to the apartment to sober up. Never in a
million years did he expect what happened next.

(The
next morning)
Cheshire and Rabbie finally came home, after
they had stayed the night in Danielle's apartment. Cheshire was
surprised to hear Kookerloo outside serenading the street. After he
put Rabbie down, he looked around to see what else had happened. He
noticed clothing scattered all over the living room, both Donavonn
and Teisia's.
Uh-oh…wait, Donavonn's bed is still
made.
He then went to his room, and his expression took on
one of sheer shock. Donavonn and Teisia, sleeping together, naked
except for a sheet covering them, and Donavonn just starting to wake
up…
"Chesh, pass me the aspirin.."
Cheshire
complied, only to hear Teisia also asking for the aspirin.
"Please…wait a sec…"
Donavonn also had a look of
surprise. "What the…."
They both screamed.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHH-OW! Owowow~." Cheshire left them a bottle of
aspirin, and sighed as he headed outside. After Donavonn and Teisia
took the Aspirin, they heard someone singing at their window with
Kookerloo.
"AH SOLE MIOOOOO~" It was Cheshire,
rubbing it in, with Kookerloo providing backup vocals. Teisia
groaned, as she reached for a boot, and threw it, hitting Kookerloo.
Cheshire looked to laugh, only to get doused by a bucket of ice water
from Donavonn.
"Chamu Chamu~!" laughed Kookerloo.
After that, the discussion went serious. "Tei…what did
we do last night?"
Teisia began to get dressed. "I
don't know, Donavonn. But…it is weird. I had a lot of fun doing it,
ya know? What about you?"
"I enjoyed it too, but it
is leaving me asking a lot of questions about myself."
"Same
here. I really did enjoy last night Donavonn…we did go all night,
after all. But it is leaving us a lot to ask." Rabbie walked
into the room after both were dressed and leapt into Donavonn's lap.
"Tei…let's do that again tomorrow night. Without the alcohol,
just to see what happens."
Teisia nodded. "Sounds
good. My place this time. Might want to tell Cheshire how you felt
about him."
Donavonn shook his head. "Nah, not this
time. Maybe later. Why don't we go out for a while and get some fresh
air. It might help our hangovers."
Teisia agreed. "Best
idea all day."
